Privacy policy
Effective 2 July 2026. The short version: your puzzles live in your browser, we don't have accounts, and the only third parties involved are Google's fonts and (if shown) Google's ads.
Who we are
Zaney Sudoku is a free killer sudoku website operated from the United Kingdom. For anything privacy-related, contact us at deathbyleisure@gmail.com.
What we store — and where
Zaney Sudoku has no accounts, no sign-up, and no server-side database of players. Your puzzle progress, timers, and dark-mode preference are stored in your own browser using localStorage. This data never leaves your device via anything we operate, and clearing your browser data removes it entirely.
Advertising (Google AdSense)
We show advertising provided by Google AdSense to keep the site free. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads, and — where you consent — to personalise them based on your visits to this and other websites.
- If you are in the UK, EEA or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent message before any personalised advertising cookies are set. You can decline personalised ads and still use the site; you may then see non-personalised ads instead.
- You can manage Google's ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
- Details of how Google uses data from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Fonts
All typefaces are hosted on our own domain. No font requests are made to Google or any other third party.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views and visits. It is cookieless and does not track you across sites: it records anonymised, aggregated data (page viewed, country, device type) and cannot identify individual visitors. Details: vercel.com/docs/analytics/privacy-policy.
Children
The site is a puzzle game suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have rights over personal data we hold about you — though in practice we hold none, since gameplay data stays in your browser. For anything relating to advertising cookies, the consent message and the Google links above are the effective controls. You can also contact us at the address above, or complain to the ICO at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the effective date at the top will be updated. Material changes will be noted on this page.
